PRESTONETT WOOD REPAIR, a powder, can be applied at any thickness, becomes very hard and can be carved, drilled and tinted with a water-based dye, with a working time of 35 minutes. PRESTONETT WOOD FILLER is ready mixed, with an unlimited working time, and fills up to 1 cm. The powder suits deep, structural repairs, the paste everyday filling and smoothing.
First clear the crack of splinters and loose paint, then dust off and prime the substrate if the wood is bare. Next, load the filler with a filling knife, pressing it firmly into the base, then strike off. PRESTONETT WOOD FILLER is ready mixed and fills up to 1 cm thick. Once fully dry, sand the repair flush before painting.
Yes. PRESTONETT WOOD FILLER both fills and smooths wood. It removes surface defects on joinery or a panel before the finish. The wood must be sound, dry and free of dust. Its average consumption is 0.5 kg per m², and its excellent adhesion ensures the coat holds on this substrate.
PRESTONETT WOOD FILLER fills up to 1 cm thick. Like any ready-mixed filler, it dries by evaporation, so this limit must be respected; on the deepest repairs, work in two passes rather than one overloaded coat. Beyond that, PRESTONETT WOOD REPAIR, a powder, can be applied at any thickness.
Wait until it is fully dry, use a fine grit and work along the grain of the wood. Sand the repair only, without straying far onto the surrounding wood, using a sanding block to stay level. Sanding across the grain leaves scratches that show under a varnish. PRESTONETT WOOD FILLER sands easily to a fine finish, which makes a clean, flush result easier to achieve.
PRESTONETT WOOD FILLER is suited to this kind of spot repair. Ready mixed, it is applied directly with a filling knife and comes in a 1 kg bucket, a handy size for touch-ups. Its unlimited working time means the container can be closed and used again. Once dry, the repair is sanded and then covered with the chosen finish.
With PRESTONETT WOOD FILLER, average consumption is 0.5 kg per m². For 10 m² of smoothed surface, allow about 5 kg of product. For spot filling, think in terms of the volume to be filled rather than the surface area. The 1 kg bucket covers everyday touch-up needs.
